About PSB
Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) was established under the Ministry of Education through the Sports (Development and Control) Ordinance, 1962 as a corporate body for the purposes of promoting and developing uniform standards of competition in sports in Pakistan comparable to the standards prevailing internationally, and regulating and controlling sports in Pakistan on a national basis.
Subsequently, in July, 1977 with the creation of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the administrative control of the Pakistan Sports Board was transferred to it.
After the devolution of the Ministry of Sports in June, 2011, the administrative control of the Pakistan Sports Board has transferred to Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination.
PSB is the premier authority to control and promote sports in the country and also acts as an executing agency to implement the government policies.
PSB monitors the activities/affairs of affiliated National Sports Federations. At present, 41 National Sports Federations and 03 departments are affiliated with the Board. Each Federation is responsible for promotion and development of its respective game/sports.
PSB has a wide range of sporting facilities at its Headquarters and Coaching Centers at Provincial Headquarters. These facilities are primarily used for national training camps and holding of various national and international competitions. In addition, these facilities are also extended to general public on normal membership basis.
What We Do
Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) under the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination is the premier authority to control and promote sports in the country and also acts as an executing agency to implement the government policies.
The subject of sports was devolved under 18th Constitutional amendment and the respective provincial governments are responsible for promotion and development of sports in their provinces. The Federal Government has very limited role.
PSB has a wide range of sporting facilities at its Headquarters and coaching centers at Provincial Headquarters. These facilities are primarily used for national training camps and holding of various national and international competitions. In addition, these facilities are also extended to general public on normal member ship basis.
Main Functions
- To promote and develop standards of national fitness as well as standards of competition, comparable to the International standards;
- To implement and monitor sports policy in conformity with national objectives and to recommend measures for designing and development of sports policy;
- To affiliate, recognize, assist and guide the national games and sports organizations in executing their programmes of sporting activities;
- To give grants-in-aid and subsidies from time to time to the National Games and Sports Organizations affiliated to the Board and deserving sportsmen;
- To consider and approve the affiliation of the National Games and Sports Organizations to International Sports Associations and Federations and the like in consultation with the Pakistan Olympic Association

Mission Statement
To pursue policies for promotion of sports, enhancing public awareness and affiliation with the teams by ensuring mass participation, realizing intellectual and physical potential of all participants from inter club level to national level for all ages without discrimination of Gender, Language, Race, and Culture.
