Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the outstanding performance of the players of Pakistan National Hockey Team in the Azlan Shah Hockey Cup, 2024, played in Malaysia. In this regard the hockey team was honoured at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad.

The prime minister said “I pray that our hockey team continues to shine like they did in the tournament,”

He further observed that after a long time, the national team had reached the final of a mega tournament which was very encouraging.

The prime minister reiterated that the government was taking all steps for the promotion of sports in the country; particularly of the national game of hockey.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif distributed prize of Rs. 1 million for each player of the Pakistan hockey team. The prize money has been announced for the players' impressive performance at the hockey tournament.
