II Asian Indoor Games

The 2nd Asian Indoor Games were held in Macau, China from October 26 - November 3, 2007.

Emblem

The Emblem of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games were given an overall impression of the sun shining above the covered gymnasium. The Shining Sun the represented the ever-glimmering and warm spirit of the Asian people is the emblem of the Olympic Council of Asia, and represented OCA's Vital role in Asia's sport development and cohesion. At the same time, it symbolised the passion, charm and unity of the people in Asia.

The design of the emblem was based on two Chinese characters: the powerful yellow stroked form the character "People", reflecting the vigour, vitality and unity of all people involved, whereas two sturdy blue strokes form the character "Two", representing the second edition of the Asian Indoor Games. The two green vertical stroked complete the design, representing sturdy growing plants, which symbolize both the environmental commitment of the host city, as well as the aspiration for the Asian Indoor Games to grow steadily into the future.

Together, the six simple, yet powerful stroked produce an image of a house set on solid ground, signifying that Macao, a youthful and energetic multi-cultural city, served as a solid foundation for future Asian Indoor Games.

Mascot

The concept of "Mei Mei" derived from the wild migratory black-faced spoonbills which come and perch in Macao every year. "Mei Mei" soars high into the sky, symbolizing that Macao opened new paths with endless innovative spirit, and also represented the youthful, boundless and ground-breaking force of the Asian Indoor Games. As this migratory bird has been chosen to be the mascot, "Mei Mei" not only showed her energy of flying high, but also encouraged Macao citizens to participate in the Macao 2007, 2nd Asian Indoor Games.
