The Inaugural Commonwealth Youth Games were held in Edinburgh, Scotland from 10th to 14th August 2000, II Commonwealth Youth Games were held in Bendigo, Australia from 30th November to 3rd December 2004 and III Commonwealth Youth Games were held in Pune, India from 12th to 18th October, 2008 respectively. Pakistan did not participate in the I and II Commonwealth Games. 24-member Pakistani Contingent participated in III Commonwealth Games held in Pune, India and won 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medals in Wrestling.
The 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games, officially known as the IV Commonwealth Youth Games was a multi-sport event held in the British Crown Dependency of Isle of Man, UK from 7 to 13 September 2011. As per the original quadrennial cycle, the Games were scheduled for 2012. However, the Commonwealth Games Federation at its general assembly in 2005 decided to move the Games within one year before the Summer Olympics.
